Privacy Literacy Research and Service Projects

Wikipedia Project

The Privacy Literacy Project uses Wikipedia as a medium to encourage a better-informed public on privacy related issues. Students research topics related to privacy with the end goal of either creating a novel Wikipedia page on their selected topic or expanding existing Wikipedia pages on privacy. Throughout this process, students have the opportunity to learn how to conduct research using databases, create an annotated bibliography on peer reviewed articles, peer review other students' work, and create a co-authored blog post on their chosen privacy + topic with their mentor. Mozilla Privacy Lab Project

As part of our general research on privacy, students sign up to either watch or attend one of Mozilla’s monthly privacy labs. Students take notes on the event and then present what they learned to the lab. In Spring 2019, the Lab hosted this event. Lab students participated in the planning and execution of this event.
